child custody coming to an end

I need some sounding boards .... and ya'll fit the bill

This is DS's senior year and the child custody agreement ends when he graduates.

Items of note:

-According to the decree ex is supposed to help pay college costs.

- I'm tired of dealing with ex

- ex was successful in filing for bankruptcy (no impact on me)

- I don't think I can pay for DS's college by myself

(did I say I was tired of dealing with my ex?)

Re: child custody coming to an end

Your ex is supposed to help pay for college; that's in the decree. It's up to your son to get his father to help.

That will free you up to focus on what you're required to do, and what you're able to do. I told ODS and YDS what I could afford to contribute. Luckily, they both choose a college within that price range so they'll graduate without debt.

Good luck to DS in his senior year! That time went very quickly!

Wow! That's good! Free tuition for 2 years cuts the bill in half, and insurance is a plus, too! Getting X to agree is way better than fighting it out.

Re: child custody coming to an end

now that the agreement is no longer in effect and DS has a job, DS hasn't mentioned going to his dad's ... He's enjoying relaxing at home, doing stuff with friends, etc...

If he chooses to go, I'm fine with it.
