Re: getting rid of stuff

I have a problem with old things that I cann't throw away, but I don't need them. I asked my brother to come and help me, because he doesnít care what memories connect me with this teddy bear or graduation gown that has been smaller than my size for 10 years. He just sorted through my things, then he gave part of it to friends who might find it useful, part of it he sent to a thrift store. But over the next two years, I again accumulated a lot of unnecessary things that take up a lot of space in the garage. Soon I'll call my brother again. The problem isn't that we have such things at home, the problem is that we cann't get rid of the habit of buying or bringing home unnecessary things. It's my opinion. I usually have a problem with clothes, I buy what I like, but I donít have a perfect figure and in the end I donít wear these clothes because it looks awful on me, it emphasizes my shortcomings. I recently started to be conscious of what I'm buying. I began to read on the Internet what clothes are good for my figure edit by moderator to remove link and now it's easier for me to order those clothes online that really suit me. I stopped saving money on clothes, but in the end I got less cloth. I also replaced part of the electronics at home - with a more economical and more multifunctional one.

Re: getting rid of stuff

I would suggest you talk to a counselor, as having such a strong emotional attachment to things that you can't get rid of anything you may need more help than a forum can give you.

Sunny, I feel I owe you an apology.

My dad was a hoarder, and I reacted to your post based on that fact, rather than to you.
