Shadow of His Wings-- the story of a Franciscan seminarian drafted into the German army during WWII, became an SS in training, and was ordained without completing his studies, and survived trials as both a traitor and war criminal.

Re: What are you reading?

I'm currently reading Conversations with God. But it's taken me about a month so far! I can either read a 600 page book in a day or it can take me half a year to read a small book! It really depends what phase I'm going through! Right now it's idle away the time without really doing anything constructive, productive or engaging!

Re: What are you reading?

LOL - Anns, I'm the same way! I usually bring a book with me when traveling that I either devour during the trip or put down when I get home. Currently I'm 400 pages in to The Goldfinch (Donna Tartt) with about 550 left to go. I was really enjoying it for those 400 pages, but then got home from my trip three weeks ago and haven't picked it back up.

Ugh... Not my kind of book. Made it about 75 pages in and couldn't handle it anymore. Time to feed the landfill.

Re: What are you reading?

My mother bought the book when she was still alive. She was going to have a friend read it to her (my mom had macular degeneration so she couldn't see). Her friend never did read it to her and when she passed away I took all her books and stuck them in my book case. I saw it and figured... What the heck - Might be interesting. Nope... I just don't get into that kind of stuff. If you ask me it's more about abuse than weird sexuality. It's not a romance novel in any way, shape or form.

Been looking for a book by Gary Byrne - Crisis of Character. He was a White House Secret Service Agent during the Bill Clinton Presidency. I heard him on the radio while listening to Hannity. I'm probably going to have to order it since I can't seem to find it on the shelf anywhere.

Re: What are you reading?

Knot, you might like Failures of Imagination by Michael McCaul.

(It's on my DH's nightstand because a family friend won't accept that DH doesn't read. )

It's scary!
