Re: DM not doing well

She's happy to be in her own bed, with her pillows, etc.

Re: DM not doing well

Realized that I want to be my mom's daughter only, not her caregiver.

I'm willing to do her laundry and dishes, but I don't want to do any personal care.

Re: DM not doing well

That's an important distinction, snafu. I'm happy that you can make that decision. You'll be able to deal with her better if you know your own comfort level. And she'll be happier, too, if you are comfortable and happy to be with her.

Re: DM not doing well

DH and I talked, he thought we should look into hiring & paying a home health care person to do personal care products things for mom.

(My idea was to let my sisters know & see if they'd pitch in - DH noped out of that)

Re: DM not doing well

She fell this evening

May have broken her hip or pelvis.

I'm waiting to hear from the ER doctor if they are keeping her at that hospital or transferring her to her preferred hospital (BG: mom has an entire care team due to all of her medical issues)

I'm not notifying family until I have something to report (other than I have no clue what's going on or which hospital she'll be at)

Re: DM not doing well

Oh, no. I'm sorry, snafu. I hope she recovers quickly. It sounds like she's gotten to the point where she shouldn't be left alone. Did you ever hire the home health aide?
