Re: low impact exercise

last week I made it to 3 of the 4 classes I intended to go to (1 a night Mon-Thurs). I wasn't feeling well on Thurs.

One class meets twice a week & its for people who are new to exercise or prefer a low impact class - but more active than the "senior" classes. I'm doing good in that one.

Pilates ... pfft .... my core strength .... what core strength, lets be honest I don't have much .... but that means if I keep going I should see improvement

and I didn't make it to yoga .... but I'm ready for it (I think)

(and after I got home from class tonight I came here to update ya'll)

Re: low impact exercise

I joined up with the gym towards the end of last year. I've been really enjoying the yoga classes and pump classes, and have been working on the cross trainers when the classes clash with work. The yoga helps with over all relaxation and flexibility, and the pump class (repeated lifting of light weights with different exercises) really helps with wrist and shoulder health and strength.

Never really been a gym person, but work sponsored as many of us as wanted to to do a six week course with our colleagues. Nice way to start, you know that all the others in your group appreciate you as slightly more than just what you look like in the gym.

Re: low impact exercise

I'm not into the meditation aspect, but the instructor is. That's fine.

My feet really hurt, but that's due to my foot issue I'll have to do more modifications next time. sigh ....

I'm really happy that I still have excellent balance, and I discovered today that after 2 weeks of exercise my core strength has already improved at bit (I was able to do an exercise that I originally failed at miserably)

Re: low impact exercise

LOL .... hahahahaaaa I (re)discovered that I'm significantly weaker/less flexible on one side as compared to the other. {I have been since the car accident years ago}

Doing a particular exercise - one side I had good balance, the other side (snort) I wobbled like a webble and nearly fell several times.

Another exercise I couldn't lift off the matt for that side and then shocked myself when I was able to lift off the matt using the other side.

(I'm new at yoga .... I don't remember what the positions are called - and I don't think I can describe them clearly)
