oh boy - its a new school year & let me tell you that kindergarten is waaay different from high school
![]() they were so cute - but man, I'd totally forgotten that you have to teach kids how the automatic sinks and hand dryers work. (gross alert) I'd also forgotten that you have to teach boys to flush the urnals - but the poor kindergarten boys couln't do it - the school has sensor urnals & the little boys are to short to trip the sensor, & not tall/strong enough to push the little button that flushes if the sensor doesn't work ![]()

Re: Tales from the sub
over heard in the hall (the girls were behind me)
She dyes her hair red...not a nice red, but red...that shade's not natural...its so unattractive... (and so on along the same lines) - so ... when the girls passed me, what do you think I saw? One of the two girls had faded blue/green streaks in her hair - LOL (esp, considering the "that shade's not natural" remark)

Re: Tales from the sub
there's a "bug" going around with mostly younger kids/students
the school nurse verified it for me - its highly contagious, almost instantaneous transmition (think "Captain Trips" from King's book The Stand) Its called "subitis" ![]() ![]()

Re: Tales from the sub
grin ....
I must have an invisable sign (about knee height) that says "hug me" I've had a lot of kindergardeners/1st graders wanting hugs/hugging me (I've never seen these kids)

Re: Tales from the sub
been a long term sub; great people to work with, good kids
I've had tears of joy and from trials & tribulation - but this past week has been really rough, it'll be over soon |

Re: Tales from the sub
![]() little ones (& not so little) that I'd checked on during recess (& one I followed up with the next day) as ... if someone tripped or if I noticed someone being too rough to a classmate, came up and hugged me, etc... just wanted me (an adult) to watch ..."see what I can do" ![]() |
