Hello

Figured I should post an intro post...

I'm a thirty something west coast Canadian. I live in an old farmhouse in a remote coastal forest community with a bunch of animals.

I like problem solving relationships (both my own and those of others).

I appreciate self-reflection and introspection so I'm drawn to this sort of thing.

Anyway, hello

Re: Hello

I have two funny looking dogs, a little cat, a flock of chickens and two geriatric horses. I'm getting two hogs pretty soon as well but they will be potroast and bacon so not pets

Do you have animals, snafu?

Aww, you got a lot of babies. I currently only have 1 dog. But I work in a pet shop, so I have many babies technically

Re: Hello

LOL they are not my babies, though I am fond of them. One of the horses is older than I am!

My little dog is a distinguished old soul and the other one is a perpetual raging teenager.

It's more like living in a circus.

Re: Hello

Not that it matters, but sort of as a general conversational thing... I own a horse too, skcupik. She's pretty awesome, although she doesn't get ridden much anymore. Do you ride your horses? Or just buy hay for them like I do? Our horse is boarded, so we don't even see her as often as I'd like. She's a great listener though, and lets me pour out my heart to her (as long as I have treats).

Re: Hello

I mostly buy a tremendous amount of hay. The oldest one is 33 this year and the younger one is 28 (you know, just a child!). I don't ride much, I mostly just keep them as pets in their retirement although both are pretty fit and able. I took the old man out yesterday in the logging roads for a short ride because he enjoys it a lot and I've had a New Year's Day tradition with him. My mare is so herd bound I could hear her screaming for him for about 15 minutes before we were out of earshot!

What kind of horse is yours?

Horses are wonderful therapists because, being flight animals, they don't really want our bad mojo. They let us tell them our secrets and then they non-judgmentally try to convince us to lose our hang ups. By that I mean they make themselves such massive PITA's until we fix ourselves up a bit.
