What's your ideal Saturday?

Looking for new things to do with the family and I'm interested in what you guys get up to?

We like to go walking on trails. We have a lot of local, state, and national parks in my area with well-developed-- and paved!-- trail systems. Some are historical, some more natural, or both.

I'm an empty nester, but I have always liked not having to leave the house on Saturdays. LOL. When my kids were younger, they had so many activities it felt like we were running-and-gunning all day every day. It felt so relaxing to have one day to hang out in pajamas as long as we wanted and soak in the quiet.

LOL... Whatever my wife wants me to do.

Everyday is ideal for me. I just kind of go-with-the-flow. We make plans sometimes, but most of the time it's impromptu. This coming weekend I'm painting the living room. We've put it off long enough. Not really looking forward to it since it has a high vaulted ceiling. It's going to be up and down a ladder a lot. That's going to reap hell on my knee by the time all is said and done. That's the last major project of the year. I just want to get it done before Thanksgiving.

Ideal? I don't know. Y'all probably think I'm crazy, but I enjoy doing stuff like that. Sitting around sometimes is fine - when I just need a break - I get plenty of them and I make sure of it.

And kayaking...when possible. Ice skating on open skates times. Look to see what my area's parks are offering. Or somewhere not too far.

Horseback riding! LOVE THIS...but if the weather isn't great...

Rainy? New easy recipe day: pizza. pasta. (adding tons of veggies to spag sauce and blend...delicious and nutritious).

Crafts day. For an upcoming season. Or cookies to deliver to a really nice neighbor or someone that could use a little pick me up...

CLEAN THE BASEMENT DAY. Everyone bolted on me for this one.

Ooooh, garage straightening was always a good time - solo. heehee

I threatened the then-spouse with pitching all the rusted things he had found in garbage cans along his travels that were taking up real estate I NEEDED for the veggie/herb/flower gardens and was told "get a court order."

(I found if I only threw one or two of the items away, he would never notice. It was good to have an accomplice too)
