Re: random acts of kindness
don't know if this actually qualifies - but as I've seen people ignore things like this before....
went to the library (hadn't parked yet) - and older woman stepped off the curb and fell in the drive/parking lot ('bout 10-12 foot in front of me). I put the car in park, hazards on, checked on her, and then gathered the things she'd dropped ....

Re: random acts of kindness
That certainly DOES count as an act of kindness imo, snafu!
![]() I have (accidentally) started the rather embarrassing activity of complimenting middle-aged women on their outfits in the grocery store parking lot. The place where I shop is next door to an office building, and a lot of women walk over to pick up a few items. Some of them are really stylish, and of course y'all know that I notice their shoes. If I'm in my convertible and see someone who has great shoes and looks well put together, and if traffic allows, I call out "I LOVE your shoes! Your outfit looks so nice!" Then I wave and keep going. Drive-by compliments. I haven't had one that didn't bust out into a big smile and a "Thank you so much!" yet. LOL. One offered to trade me her shoes for my car. LOL. Maybe my kids are right - I *am* embarrassing! ![]()

Re: random acts of kindness
I gave a gift card to the lady who straightened out all the timecard issues for summer school.

Re: random acts of kindness
I bought myself flowers today. LOL. I decided I needed a random act of kindness.

Be kind to yourself! That's the best kindness of all.

Re: random acts of kindness
I should tell my boss about random acts of kindness... They're talking about putting me on nights again.

Re: random acts of kindness
That sounds like a plan. Doubt it would be very effective, but what the heck. I could always tell her I took a poll and the majority thought it would be better if I stayed on days. She'd probably look at me like I lost my mind and schedule me for a mental health evaluation. Hmm... I wonder if I can get disability for that?

Re: random acts of kindness
A random act of kindness by several people at once -- the grocery cashier, the grocery bagger, and the people in line behind me.
A young woman went through the 15 items or less line in front of me with 47 items. 47. Yes, I counted how many times the scanner beeped. Granted, most of them were baby food jars, so they were small, but there were still 47 items in the 15 items or less line. The grocery cashier's hands were a blur scanning the 47 items, and she was patient when the woman didn't have enough money to pay for the whole order and had to figure out what to put back. The grocery bagger double bagged her groceries since the baby food jars were heavy. And no one in line complained. And I believe that was a kindness. ![]() It probably would have been nicer if I had offered to pay for the item she had to put back, but I didn't think to do it. The woman's husband was in the line next to us (not a 15 item or less line) checking out another cart with about 7 items in it. I figured he could've spotted her.

Re: random acts of kindness
Last week I found an envelope on the pavement in the pouring rain. It had no name on the front of it. I picked it up and let it dry out. When I opened it, it was a birthday card with cash in it.
I posted it on FB to find the owner. 2 hours later, she was found. I gave her back the cash. ![]() |
