Re: Corona & family

The rehab place my mom is in contacted residents' families - they had their first case of Covid-19. The person has been transferred out (I'm assuming to a hospital) and staff are being monitored closely.

I have not talked to DM about it - I plan on talking to her tomorrow (she had therapy today & is too exhausted/cranky when she's had therapy).

I spent part of the day making sure her obit was updated (new great-grand child at the beginning of this month) and contacting her annuity provider so that I can transfer $$$ to pay her rent for May (legal docs have been sent).

Re: Corona & family

I spoke with DM - and did not bring up Corona-19 (there's nothing we can do)

We had a good conversation - it was enjoyable to speak with her.

Re: Corona & family

I'm glad you focused on the positive, snafu. There's nothing you can do, really.

My own DM has been a pita, ignoring stay-at-home orders. Between age and health issues, she's a high risk anyway. Today, there's storm warnings with high winds, tornado watches, flood watches, and she texts me that she's so proud of herself because she went to an office supply place to fax an unnecessary document to a company which could have been mailed.

I may decide to have "the talk" with her later today when I'm calmed down. She should know that DNR's are part of the basic package with Covid-19 in our area hospitals.

Re: Corona & family

So does my mom, but she also doesn't think about it. And since she's still going out, maybe a little reminder would keep her in.

Re: Corona & family

DM transferred back to her place -whew.

She has to stay quarantined for 2 weeks total, before she can leave her apartment with a mask.
