Re: Very nervous

Trace protein can be normal for pregnancy. Also, you can have pregnancy induced hypertension without having pre-eclampsia, which is good because mostly that can be handled with rest and blood pressure meds.

With DD1, I was diagnosed with severe pre-eclampsia at 28 weeks pregnant. I was put in the hospital on strict bed rest and placed on magnesium. My BP was roughly 200/107. I had 3+ protein. I gained 27 pounds in less than a month.

At 31 weeks, I developed HELLP syndrome. They doctors had no choice than to delivery my DD.

The moral of the story, I now have a perfectly healthy, smart and beautiful 7-year-old daughter. Take care and let us know how you are doing.

Re: Very nervous

Dear all,

I have great news! It's a boy! My younger son was born 10 days ago. I had
pre-eclampsia and was hospitalized on week 33.5. The doctor hoped to keep me in the hospital for couple of weeks, but my blood pressure really sky-rocketed in several days, so the doctor insisted that the baby needs to be born. And so they did c-section on week 34. The baby is 5 pounds and is doing well. He is still in neonatal care in the hospital and they'll keep him another week or two. But he is doing very well, gained 100 grams over one day yesterday.

I am just back from the hospital (spent more than 2 weeks there) and the little one will be at home soon too.

Thank you all for your advices about pre-eclampsia and for your thinking about me, they really helped me to go through this. And there were very scary moments.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

I am so happy for you and your new little boy!!! Welcome back! I am glad your home and that he can be home with you soon! (A week or two is better than a month.) Congratulations!!!

It sounds like he is gaining well. That is great. Are you recovering okay? It sounds like you have been through so much. Feel free to talk about it or take your time. Use this place in what ever way you need. We'll be here.

Do you have some help at home? You have been through a lot. Don't try to do too much too soon. (Not like you probably needed that unsolicited advice.)
