DS2: "Damper, Damsel, Damn Selfish..."

Me: WHAT does it say?

DS2: Damn...

Re: Wives tagging along

A judicious...

Guess it depends how you define "educational"

I have a sick kid at home; he asked if we had any dinosaur documentaries so we started searching "Dinosaurs" together on the streaming service to see if we could find something to watch.

DS1:...

Re: breakdown of reponsibilities

I can't really add anything except you can't trust what he says, he is clearly willing to use both lies and violence against you, and that you should get out regardless of what it might cost.

I...

Re: Worst present you have ever recieved?.....:(

Well, not a single present but an occasion:

When I was, I dunno, 9 or 10 or so, and had outgrown the "pink" stage and was into purple and thought pink was totally horrible and for babies. My mom...

Re: My 8yr old won't zip up her jacket.

Ahh. And so I must tell the story again. :)

Some years ago on some nippy school morning, 5 year old DS2 was insisting he did not need his jacket. I was getting pretty tired of the same old...

Anything you cannot take, perhaps you could take a picture of with your phone or something, so you can prove its condition if he does do anything.

Re: Bread, How do I get it right

Is it a whole grain loaf? Mrs X is right, whole grain flour has less gluten available to develop the elastic texture, which helps trap air bubbles when it rises and create a lighter texture? You can...

Woohoo! Got my last grade for my MLS!!

Just squeaked an A! (Super nitpicky prof, and an A is hard--have to have a 97 average for the class).

I have a 4.0! That was my last graded class. Now I just need to pass the e-portfolio...

Re: Ugh. Men's shoes.

Mommy will not be getting new hiking boots for decades. DS1's new boots...

Ugh. Men's shoes.

DS1 no longer fits into any youth size. It is time for men's shoes. This is especially painful for hiking boots where the price jump is about $80 (at least) but you know he will outgrow them in 6...

Been AWOL. :(

DNephew is out of danger, finally. Had his BMT, which is no piece of cake, a long recovery, some scares. It looks like finally it definitely worked and he will be ok.

Re: What should a 9 year-old boy be doing with his free time?

Totally agree with this. I raise my kids with the expectation that "I'm bored" is never somebody else's problem--it is the bored person's problem to solve. The classic response--from my dad--was...

Re: tricky problem with future in laws

This, exactly.

You cannot keep the peace because the peace has already been broken, by her, and she does so repeatedly. When she badgers, snipes, whines, and complains about you, she is engaging...
