breakup stories

Anyone got any breakup stories?

When I was in college a friend and I both had our boyfriends dump us the weekend before VAlentine's Day. We spent Valentine's day complaining about their pizz poor timing and we ate an entire container of Edy's mint chocolate chip icecream for supper.

One of my nieces hates Valentine's day to this day. Her boyfriend broke up with her on Valentine's day. Years and a divorce later they got back together, are married and expecting a child.

A college boyfriend broke up with me one Friday afternoon. He called Saturday to see if I wanted to get back together. Stupid me... I did. Turns out that he broke up with me because he had a date with another girl that Friday night. Fast forward 3 years to find me breaking off our engagement because I found out he had been dating other women behind my back. Surprise, surprise.

:o. This was not my proudest moment.

When ex and I were splitting, he asked if there was anything he could do to help me get over it. I told him he could drop dead.

That's a good one!

I had a boyfriend in high school and the first year of college. We had been good friends first. He called one morning to talk to me. My DM got very excited because she thought he was going to propose. He didn't. He wanted to break up.

It was okay. He was just a nice guy at a bad spot in his life. We weren't really meant to be gf/bf. I ended up working with his next girlfriend and she asked me a lot of questions trying to determine if he was telling her the truth about us. I would just answer, "Whatever he says, I will swear to. You don't even have to tell me what he said." She hated that. They didn't last too long.

He and I remained friends until we lost touch. We're still friends on FB, though.

In college I had a boyfriend breakup with me (in hindsight I was too clingy)

I listened to a lot of Pink Floyd "The Wall" ... just certain songs though

I do it the easy way... I just never bothered to contact them again. No notes, no phone calls, no messages... nothing... Leave em' hanging.

Just like asking a girl out. I'd ask and if they said no... Okay... No means no. I would go ask another one. Eventually one would say yes. Women are like shopping for produce at the grocery store... Check it out closely, squeeze it a couple of times and if it's good... Put it in your cart. If not, toss it back in the bin - someone will take it eventually.

Just kidding. :D
