View Full Version : More Kitties

October 6th, 2009, 02:23 AM
Last night my son found a cat dodging cars on our roundabout and he
brought it home.

We are all now hissing at each other,. 3 cats...DH, me and the kids!!

This little cat is bout 6mths like my new cat and remarkably like her...what do I do?

I often think cats can sense out the right places to arrive!

I however could be homeless when DH returns from work.

Yeah, that's how my 3rd cat became part of our family too... And I thought my DH would kill me, but as it turns out cat #3 is his favorite family member (myself and kids included). So it was a good thing. (??)

On the plus side, there's a place for people like us, Lizzie....

Thats me alright!!!

I want more kitties - DH has said (several times) that if he dies first he knows I'll become the cat lady.:o:D:o

(ps - I used to have a cat that would walk on a leash & come when I whisteled - she was a cool cat)

Snafu- My 14yo cat used to walk on a leash, not so much any more. But she likes to play outside and all I have to do is whistle and she runs back. If I leave the bathroom door open when I am taking a bath (to my bedroom), she will try to jump in the bathtub with me. She pretty much owns the house.

I would like to have another cat, but DH would have a fit and so would my cat. She likes being the Queen of the house.

It can be a problem to introduce another cat to a household
They do exist very happily in a lone pet state

The original cat was majorally put out by the little ones arrival in May but
now it looks like the kitten has duplicated herself with this similar looking kitten!!

Its now a mad house!!

Awwww.... I'm sorry Lizzie!!

The good news is that for at least a little while the big cat can "hide" in places where the little cats can't reach (as long as she can jump higher than them). It doesn't last though. :(

One of our cats (female, 6 yr) has always acted as if she doesn't want to play with our other cat (or dog). However, IF she doesn't realize that someone's home she'll play :p - but once she KNOWS there's a human in the house she'll stop playing

is your cat "sneaky" like that?

I found the two little ones asleep in the cat basket this afternoon...they had chased each
other all morning hissing and growling and then they sleep together. LOL! The older cat( in avatar) has retreated upstairs looking disgruntled!!

So is it official, Lizzie? You now have a third cat?

October 11th, 2009, 02:41 AM
Oh God KayKay!

You might be right!

DH is having a bit of a fit but what can I do?
I cant put her out and abandon her!

He says it him or her (not sure its a 'her'!)

I have learned a valuable lesson to keep away from stray
animals....now I have nearly as many cats as children!

Its just also the damned expense of the vet....dont know about
USA but here it costs a lot for neutering and vaccs and I cant let
it outside till thats done or I could have even more kitties!!!

Your link would soon have my pic in it! The Catwoman!

Hey KayKay

Looks like puss is here to stay I got her an identification medal and collar yest
No one showed up to take her../claim her ..... poor little soul. Declan has become a bit more
accustomed to her being here too !! Shes nearly with us two weeks now

Anyway, as you said, she could work out to be the sweetest of the 3 cats
as shes a lap cat and very cuddly so I have great hopes for her :)

I'm sure if I ever get to heaven I will be suitable rewarded !!

Thanks KayKay!!

The little critter has settled in well...thinks she was always here!
Like yourself I will draw the line under three cats (and four kids!!
Mind you the cats are all females so we are increasing in number LOL!)
